Education - Real Estate Designations
ABR
- Accredited Buyer Representative With over 20,000 members, REBAC is the largest association of real estate professionals focusing on all aspects of buyer representation. Over 11,000 ABR® designees have completed the REBAC course, passed the test and provided documentation of buyer agency experience. The two-day, 16-hour course and one seven to eight hour elective course is required for gaining the designation. ABR “core course” and elective course is offered at PPAR in the spring.

AHWD – At Home with Diversity

- NAR’s Green Designation Course: People, Property, Planet, Prosperity covers the distinguishing characteristics that make a high-performance home. The course looks at how consumer demand for these homes is increasing and provides a detailed accounting of how high-performance features work. GRI - Graduate REALTOR® Institute
- 15 - 4 hour classes (60 hours) required. The GRI designation is a powerful tool to attract and build new business. Earning this designation will help you to increase your skill level across the entire landscape of real estate with in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards and the sales process. Earning the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation is a way to stand out to prospective home buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth market knowledge, increased proficiency in a broad array of subjects to enhance professionalism and business success. The median income for GRI designees in 2012 was $61,000.00, compared to the median income of non-designees of $33,500. GRI is an entry-level residential designation and will be most beneficial to real estate professionals who have less than 5 years experience, however, the course content is a great refresher for even the seasoned real estate agent.
