At PPAR, REALTORS® have been active participants and leaders in the community since 1902. Real estate professionals in the Pikes Peak region have had the privilege of helping consumers pursue the dream of homeownership for centuries; from touring prospective homes to assisting in every step of the real estate transaction, forging relationships that last a lifetime.
Historically, the desire to own land and a home is deeply embedded in the fabric of American society, and dates back to the 1800s. Some would argue that the dream of homeownership goes even further back in time, where the importance of being a landowner was discussed by the Founding Fathers in documents such as the Articles of Confederation.
REALTORS® nationwide have a vested interest in protecting the homeowners’ property rights. As part of the largest trade association in the country, REALTORS® use their collective voice to serve as advocates for the homeowner, and ensure that local ordinances, state and federal legislation do not adversely impact homeowners.
PPAR REALTORS® take civic participation very seriously. In addition to their efforts in the political arena, they are active in the community. We partner with a few community programs and achieved extraordinary results. We collaborate with the American Cancer Society to discover new ways to keep the funds raised at a local level. PPAR proudly sponsored the first Casino Night and made a donation to ACS. 100% of the donation will stay local to be used to provide taxi vouchers for people in our community that need rides to their chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. For the third year, PPAR entered an award-winning float in the Festival of Lights Parade. The 33rd annual parade was the largest single day community event with over 60,000 people in attendance and PPAR was bestowed the top honor of the White Christmas Trophy for best overall float entry. PPAR REALTORS® contributed money for food baskets to help feed families working to stay out of the welfare system over Thanksgiving and food baskets for families in need of food during the holiday season. Members provided gifts for 300 foster children in the Pikes Peak region over the holidays. Members showed up full force to give back to the community and did so in the spirit of giving. They obtained the child’s name and wish list in less than two days. They purchased the gifts for the children and brought them into PPAR so Santa could present the gifts to the child at a dinner. PPAR REALTORS® participate in other programs as well. Members support the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon event that raised funds for JA to provide financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurial programs to local area students. They supported the HBA Breakfast with the Builders with a booth. Members successfully raised funds for REACH, a local organization that provides services to over 10,000 people every year who need a help up.
