REALTORS® are the real estate experts. PPAR helps REALTORS® become experts by providing them with the education and tools needed to succeed in their real estate business and provide the best service to their clients. To become a REALTOR® member, a real estate licensee must complete and maintain certain requirements provided by PPAR and NAR.

Founded in 1902, PPAR has had the unique opportunity to grow with and develop strong roots alongside the communities in El Paso and Teller Counties.

REALTOR® Service Center

REALTORS® in the Pikes Peak region have had the privilege of helping consumers pursue the dream of homeownership for over 120 years; from touring prospective homes to assisting in every step of the real estate transaction, forging relationships that last a lifetime. REALTORS® voluntarily agree to abide by a Code of Ethics, based on professionalism and protection of the public. The REALTOR® Code of Ethics sets a higher standard for fairness in housing than any federal law.

Historically, the desire to own land and a home is deeply embedded in the fabric of American society, and dates to the earliest days of our country. PPAR REALTORS® recognize that the interests of our communities require the highest and best use of the land and the widest distribution of homeownership. PPAR and its REALTOR® members promote homeownership, attainable housing for all, and protect private property rights.

In 1987, the REALTOR® Services Corp (RSC) became a wholly owned subsidiary of PPAR. RSC is the provider of the Pikes Peak Multiple Listing Service™ (PPMLS™) which has the most accurate up-to-date listings for the Pikes Peak Region. REALTORS® work together through the PPMLS™ to monitor what is happening across the market and cooperate to get sales done.

PPAR Downtown

PPAR was issued its charter from NAR, the largest trade association in the nation, in 1918. The Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) was founded in 1921. Upon approval of the three-way membership agreement in 1926, NAR, CAR and PPAR began working in unison for the benefit of the membership and the consumer. By working together, REALTORS® use their collective voice to serve as advocates for the homeowner, and ensure that local ordinances, state, and federal legislation do not adversely impact homeowners.

Next time you see a "For Sale" sign in your neighborhood, look for the "R" located on the sign. That indicates an official REALTOR® member is involved in that transaction and is most likely one of the 4,700+ members of our association!
