Our Mission & History
Since our founding in 1902, PPAR has grown alongside the communities of El Paso and Teller Counties — from a small group of local real estate professionals into one of Colorado’s most respected REALTOR® associations. Through more than a century of market shifts, community growth, and industry change, PPAR has remained a constant: advocating for property rights, upholding ethical standards, and serving the people of the Pikes Peak Region.
PPAR received its official charter from the National Association of REALTORS® — the largest trade association in the nation — in 1918. Three years later, the Colorado Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1921, and by 1926 NAR, CAR, and PPAR had formalized a three-way membership agreement that united their collective voice on behalf of homeowners across Colorado and the nation.
In 1987, REALTOR® Services Corp (RSC) became a wholly owned subsidiary of PPAR, expanding the professional tools and resources available to real estate professionals across the Pikes Peak Region. Today, PPAR serves more than 3,800 active real estate professionals across El Paso and Teller Counties — and that “R” you see on For Sale signs across Colorado Springs, Monument, Fountain, Falcon, and Woodland Park? That is a PPAR REALTOR® at work.
Mission Statement
Our Team
Behind every PPAR program, event, and member service is a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about supporting the Pikes Peak Region real estate community. Our staff works every day to ensure PPAR members have what they need to succeed — from managing membership services and coordinating continuing education to supporting the technology tools that keep the Pikes Peak Region’s real estate market running smoothly.
PPAR Board of Directors
The PPAR board of directors is comprised of dedicated REALTOR® members who volunteer their time to give back to their industry. Members elect this Pikes Peak REALTORS® leadership group to represent their professional interests in Colorado Springs and beyond. PPAR REALTORS® Volunteer and Lead Colorado Springs Real Estate Charities
PPAR members have always believed that a thriving real estate community starts with a thriving local community. PPAR Cares is the expression of that belief — a commitment to giving back, showing up, and investing in the people and places that make the Pikes Peak Region a wonderful place to live, work, and own a home. From El Paso County neighborhoods to communities across Teller County, PPAR members are neighbors first and real estate professionals second.
Serving El Paso and Teller Counties through advocacy, volunteerism, and local partnership.
Community Involvement
PPAR members volunteer, donate, and advocate across the Colorado Springs area and beyond throughout the year. Whether supporting local housing initiatives, participating in community clean-ups, or raising awareness for causes that affect the families we serve, PPAR and its members are proud and active contributors to the quality of life in the Pikes Peak Region.
Charitable Initiatives
As committed neighbors and market experts, REALTORS® actively shape the well-being of our region. Professionals build lasting relationships with local organizations and support vital Colorado Springs Real Estate Charities. They consistently give back through dedicated volunteerism and service across the Pikes Peak Region.
PPAR community involvement highlights include the Spike for a Cause Volleyball Tournament. This event raised critical funds for Homeward Pikes Peak. Members also participated in the COSILoveYou CityServe Day, partnering directly with the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC to uplift neighborhoods through business-led volunteerism. Additional efforts include coordinating food and clothing drives in partnership with Springs Rescue Mission. REALTORS® also put boots on the ground with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for families in need. During the winter, members spread holiday joy by fulfilling children’s wish lists through seasonal gift-giving programs.
PPAR intentionally positions REALTORS® as vital contributors to regional success. The organization forms public-facing partnerships and shares powerful member stories. This strategy empowers REALTORS® to serve as active brand ambassadors for Colorado Springs Real Estate Charities. By collaborating with local partners and amplifying the REALTOR® voice, we expand our community presence. This deepens public understanding of the distinct REALTOR® difference.
