Our Mission & History
Since our founding in 1902, PPAR has grown alongside the communities of El Paso and Teller Counties — from a small group of local real estate professionals into one of Colorado’s most respected REALTOR® associations. Through more than a century of market shifts, community growth, and industry change, PPAR has remained a constant: advocating for property rights, upholding ethical standards, and serving the people of the Pikes Peak Region.
PPAR received its official charter from the National Association of REALTORS® — the largest trade association in the nation — in 1918. Three years later, the Colorado Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1921, and by 1926 NAR, CAR, and PPAR had formalized a three-way membership agreement that united their collective voice on behalf of homeowners across Colorado and the nation.
In 1987, REALTOR® Services Corp (RSC) became a wholly owned subsidiary of PPAR, expanding the professional tools and resources available to real estate professionals across the Pikes Peak Region. Today, PPAR serves more than 3,800 active real estate professionals across El Paso and Teller Counties — and that “R” you see on For Sale signs across Colorado Springs, Monument, Fountain, Falcon, and Woodland Park? That is a PPAR REALTOR® at work.

PPAR Cares – Building Community
PPAR members have always believed that a thriving real estate community starts with a thriving local community. PPAR Cares is the expression of that belief — a commitment to giving back, showing up, and investing in the people and places that make the Pikes Peak Region a wonderful place to live, work, and own a home. From El Paso County neighborhoods to communities across Teller County, PPAR members are neighbors first and real estate professionals second.
Serving El Paso and Teller Counties through advocacy, volunteerism, and local partnership.
Community Involvement
PPAR members volunteer, donate, and advocate across the Colorado Springs area and beyond throughout the year. Whether supporting local housing initiatives, participating in community clean-ups, or raising awareness for causes that affect the families we serve, PPAR and its members are proud and active contributors to the quality of life in the Pikes Peak Region.
Charitable Initiatives
REALTORS® are neighbors first — market experts who show up for their community, not just their clients. Across the Pikes Peak Region, PPAR members build lasting relationships with local organizations and give back through volunteerism, service, and charitable support.
That commitment shows up in tangible ways: the Spike for a Cause Volleyball Tournament, raising funds for Homeward Pikes Peak; participation in COSILoveYou CityServe Day alongside the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC; food and clothing drives supporting Springs Rescue Mission; hands-on builds with Habitat for Humanity; and seasonal gift-giving efforts that bring holiday joy to local children.
PPAR is committed to positioning REALTORS® as vital contributors to community success — forming public-facing partnerships, sharing member stories, and empowering REALTORS® to serve as brand ambassadors. By amplifying the REALTOR® voice alongside our partner organizations, we’re expanding our presence and deepening public understanding of what makes a REALTOR® different.
